Aluminum-galvanized coil/plate refers to the steel plate coating on the basis of zinc with aluminum (passivation protection), the general composition is 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc, 1.5% silicon, with excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, corrosion resistance is 2-4 times that of galvanized sheet, but also has the high temperature corrosion resistance of aluminum plate, smooth surface, good appearance.

Dip 55% aluminum-zinc steel coil (Galvalume) products, also known as hot-dip 55% aluminum-zinc products, are a kind of surface composition different from hot-dip galvanized products with higher corrosion resistance and heat resistance, which is a high-corrosion resistant coated steel plate developed by the R&D department of Bethlehem Steel Company in the United States. Experts have studied in depth the influence of the proportion of aluminum and zinc alloys in the steel plate coating on the anti-corrosion performance.

The zinc spoil of aluminized zinc sheet is divided into four categories

  1. Zinc-free board: the surface is smooth, and the surface is uniform and beautiful after painting
  2. Large zinc patterned board: good adhesion and good weather resistance
  3. Medium zinc pattern board: the surface is slightly smooth, and the surface is uniform after painting
  4. Small zinc plate: the coating performance is very good

According to foreign experience specifications, the anti-corrosion coating of the base material of the general profiled steel plate (pit plate) should not be less than 350g/㎡ (Z35) for hot-dip galvanizing or 185 g/㎡ (AZ185) for hot-dip galvanizing;
The minimum hot-dip galvanizing layer of cold-rolled steel and floor slabs for building structures is 275 g/㎡ (Z27), and the requirement for exposed coastal parts is 350 g/㎡ (Z35).

Performance characteristics

1. Heat reflectivity:

The heat reflectivity of aluminum-galvanized steel sheet is very high, twice that of galvanized steel sheet, and people often use it as a thermal insulation material.

2. Heat resistance:

Aluminum-zinc alloy steel plate has good heat resistance and can withstand high temperatures of more than 300 degrees Celsius, which is very similar to the high temperature oxidation resistance of aluminized steel plate, and is often used in chimney pipes, ovens, illuminators and fluorescent lamp shades.

Corrosion Resistance:

The corrosion resistance of aluminum-galvanized steel coil is mainly because of aluminum, aluminum's protective function. When zinc is subjected to abrasion, aluminium forms a dense layer of alumina that prevents corrosion-resistant substances from corrosively corroding the interior.

3. Economy:

Because the density of 55% AL-Zn is smaller than that of Zn, the area of aluminum-galvanized steel sheet is more than 3% larger than that of galvanized steel sheet with the same weight and the same thickness of the gold plating layer.

4. Easy to paint:

The aluminum-zinc sheet has excellent adhesion to the paint and can be painted without pretreatment and weathering.

The coating adhesion of the gold plating layer of aluminum-galvanized steel sheet has excellent adhesion, so it can be directly coated on advertising boards and general plates without pretreatment such as fading.

5. Aluminum-galvanized steel sheet has a gorgeous silver-white surface.
